This is probably what Sullivan is thinking as he watches his Dad do some work in the kitchen. So cute! He just couldn't stop watching. (Irony: the "project" Chris was working on was child-proofing the kitchen).
(or maybe he is just that much of a genius baby that he is watching the installation so that he knows how to unlock the cabinets...heehee)
First of all, I loved that movie (August Rush). But it brings new meaning now. This month is flying by. School is starting. "Fall things" are out (yippee!). And the stores have holiday decorations out. The month of August is just passing us by.
Here is how we have been keeping busy.
Cam enjoying a snack at Market Street. Sullivan just checking it out. Probably wondering how he can get in the water. A little picnic. Cam is learning to Share (which is a really big deal since he loves to borrow/take his brothers things.) Me and my boys. Love them!
Chris and I took a little get away.
What a fun time we had with great friends! We ate dinner without rushing to feed the kids. We didn't change diapers. We dressed up. We walked very far. We didn't carry diaper bags. We laid out by the pool. We were entertained by wonderful shows (I highly recommend Phantom of the Opera, Mike Hammer comedian, and Le Reve), and got to stay out past "bedtime" of 7:30.
Getting away made us realize....how much fun we have together as a couple. It made us realize how much we love spending time with good friends. It made us realize how much we love being at home with our boys.....
Just a few shots from the trip.
There is a special bond between NICU "graduates". Each story is a little different. But one thing in common is that we are all so thankful for the NICU. Today we got to spend a little bit of time with NICU graduates. Some we have known for a while-others we just met today. Brittani was taking pictures for an exciting NICU project. The boys were so patient and loved spending time with some of their favorite people.
The boys waiting patiently-playing with friends. Sullivan and his buddy, Cullen, hangin' out.
It is raining. Hooray! Nothing better than a rainy afternoon with: A hot cup of coffee(woodlands blend from HEB. Seriously...the best!), Pandora playing the Selah station (it is wonderful! You should check it out!), boys taking a nice afternoon nap after celebrating with Ashley and her soon-to-be newborn baby, and looking through some fond memories.
So, I thought I would share some. What a great time we had with family!
(the boys just loved spending time with their cousins!)
The irony is that there are several blogs that I "check" daily and if there isn't a recent update I get so "bummed". Well, that being said, I must say I have been on/am on a little blogger hiatus. Not sure why. Maybe it is because I have been spending more time "unplugged" and with my friends and family. Not sure why. But we are having a great summer and when I do update on the chronicles of whats going on...it will be a good one. Until then....here is proof that we have been so busy. We are too tired to even enjoy our snack. (heehee! Poor Cam)
Our story begins with a chance encounter meeting at church, evolving into a whirlwind romance. We got married in 2005. We love to travel, spend time with friends, and spend time together as a family. In May, we welcomed the Blessing of Twin boys....Sullivan and Camden. Although they wanted to meet us 2 months early, our journey together has already been sweet! What a testimony to the power of prayer!
This chronicles our lives as a family...Here are our thoughts and adventures.
