Terrific Two's

This was my post two years ago.
http://butlerchronicles.blogspot.com/2010/05/so-as-most-of-you-might-know-weve-had.html

Today my boys are two years old.
This weekend is Mothers Day.
I can't think of a better gift for Mothers Day than two healthy and happy boys.
I am overwhelmed by how much I love these guys.
I am overwhelmed by their joy and excitement that they find/see in everything-from singing the "turtle song" to spotting anything "THOMAS" to recognizing the rain outside.

I hope that "when I grow up" I have half as much joy as these boys do.
Happy Birthday Sullivan and Camden.

Words just can't describe......

just not so sure about those rainbow colored pancakes....and/or a "hot" candle first thing in the morning.
Some more yummy treats today with our very special friends. We love you C and P (and H!)!

 The view from outside.

 all grown up.

Fantastic Four.

We have a Fantastic Four in our family. "The Cousins". They love each other so much and it is so much fun spending time with them. I know that my "counsin time" as a kid was very precious and allowed for wonderful memories to be created (and you will see a snapshot of one of those memories below. Maybe some shouldn't be remembered?!?). I am so glad my boys will have the same.

Here are some cousin photos from this weekend (plus one circa 1990?).

Koi pond with the kids.

Snowcones from the Haute Frog. Yum!

Nana and Papa came in for a visit too.

A ride around town on the Trolley.

...checkin' out the construction. (Cam loved this part!)

...and some movie time!

Cousins.
(oh yeah....those are some good times with cousins! and yep....those pants (and shirt and bangs) used to be cool?!?!

Shmorgasboard (spelling?)

I think I have avoided blogging because I didn't (don't)
know where to start.
Lets see.
Easter
Visit from Grandma
Playing outside (a lot!)
Playing with cousins
Tee-ball with Aaron and Sarah
San Antonio with a friend
Double ear infections (times 2)
Choo-Choo Trains (a new obsession)
Pierce turns 4!
Crafts with 2 year olds.
Um, yeah. I still don't know where to start. How about pictures?
(whew....that was a lot of pictures. How about round two tomorrow?). Night night!

a gift.

This weekend was memorable.
It was sad.
It was peaceful.
It was humbling.
It was an honor.
This weekend I had the priveledge of doing individual/family counseling at a grief camp in Cat Springs, Texas.
I don't exactly know what/how to "blog" about this experience, so I will just leave you with a few pictures. I will also ask that as you carry on about your day-run errands, meet people, think about life, etc. you take some time to be thankful for your family and realize that each day with the people we love is a gift.
Please pray for those who grieve.

Beautiful. Symbolic.

FFA.

Future Farmers of America...look out! We have some rodeo fans here (Uncle Aaron..you should be so proud!)
We had the best time at the Rodeo!

This one needs some explaining. Cam was pretty fascinated by the pot belly pig. Chris asked him (Cam) if he could find the pigs belly button. So....he was getting a closer look and trying to find it. Ha!

It wouldn't be a complete day at the rodeo without some...rodeo food! Yum!

The end of a long day!
